If your power supply is working and your laptop is receiving power from that (both are usually indicated by LEDs on the power supply or on the laptop itself), then your battery may be the problem. Lithium-ion batteries typically have a useful life of 2-3 years. If you find that your battery isn't holding a charge, it may be time to order a new one.
